Contraception: Good or Bad?
These types of women need to take advantage of contraception to heal their wounds and body before another rigour of pregnancy, labour and birth. Lots of women have lost their lives because their bodies could not bear the stress of another pregnancy so soon.
Unfortunately, some men do not see the need for contraception and if the women are ignorant, this could result in having a lot of children that could sometimes lead to hardship, sickness or death.
Contraception is achieved through the use of contraceptive methods and the treatment of infertility. Contraceptive information and services are fundamental to the health and human rights of all individuals.
The prevention of unintended pregnancies helps to lower maternal ill-health and the number of pregnancy-related deaths. Delaying pregnancies in young girls who are at increased risk of health problems from early childbearing.
Although contraception among young and unmarried girls is frowned at in Africa it does not stop the fact that these wayward girls are doing what they are not supposed to do. They are getting pregnant, indulging in abortion that has resulted in damage of wombs or untimely death.
Also, preventing pregnancies among older women who may face increased risks, are important health benefit of family planning.
By reducing rates of unintended pregnancies, contraception will reduce unsafe abortion and reduces HIV transmissions from mothers to newborns.
This can also improve the education of girls and create opportunities for women to participate more fully in society, including paid employment. In 2017, it was estimated that 214 million women of reproductive age in developing regions have an unmet need for contraception.
Reasons for this include:
*Fear or experience of side-effects
*Cultural or religious opposition
*Limited access to contraception
*Limited choice of methods
*Poor quality of available services
*Gender-based barriers.
I think contraception information should be accessible to all. This will prevent Ignorance and lots of untimely death among girls and women. It will also boost the quality of life among women
