7 Ways To Prevent Kidney Problems
The issue of kidney Disease/Failure among people of various age groups is becoming alarming.
There is a need for everyone to be aware of various things that can damage the kidney and take the necessary steps to avoid it.
Our kidney deserves the best care from us because it is the main source of our active and healthy living.
If the kidney is impaired or damaged, the whole body function will be in serious trouble or stopped completely. This may result in lots of untold pain and hardship that may eventually lead to death.
Some time ago, the world got news of the demise of one of the Nigerian actors as a result of kidney disease.
Another minister of public work from the same country is on life support due to the same issue of kidney problems.
I'm sure several people all over the world are in the same situation.
There is a need to avert the menace of kidney disease. To achieve this, you need to be aware of the following causes and avoid them.
1. Delaying Easing Yourself
Allowing urine in the bladder for too long is bad for the kidney. When you're pressed and you refuse to release the urine in your bladder on time. It can build up to harmful bacteria that will travel back to your urethra and kidney.
This will later turn into a kidney infection that may damage your kidney if it's not treated on time due to ignorance. Avoid this by easing yourself promptly once you're pressed.
Consumption of too much sodium(salt)
Do not consume more than 5.8 grams of sodium (salt) daily. If possible avoid it.
3. Consumption of too much beef
Too much meat/beef means too much protein in your diet which is harmful for your kidneys.
When you have an overload of Protein in your system. It becomes a problem during the process of digestion, it produces a toxin called ammonia.
This is very destructive to your kidneys. Therefore avoid too much meat consumption to prevent kidney damage.
4. Drinking too much Coffee or Energy Drinks
Too much consumption of Coffee/Energy drinks can raise your blood pressure. Avoid this by controlling the quantity of coffee or Energy Drinks you consume daily.
Your kidneys must be hydrated properly at all times to perform well. This will allow toxins to be flushed out easily from the system. Failure to drink enough water makes the toxin accumulate and wreak havoc on the kidney.
Try to drink at least a litre or two of clean water daily. You don't have to gulp a litre of water down at once but you can start with a glass at once.
6. Delay in treating sickness
Take care of all health challenges properly and do your medical check-up regularly.
7. Self Prescription
Avoid prescribing medications for yourself when you're sick. Do not take medicine because someone else took it and it worked. You may be harming your kidney in the process. See a doctor and do proper check-up.
Avoid taking the following Tablets, they could be very dangerous if not prescribed by a doctor.
* D-cold
* Vicks Action-500
* Actified
* Coldarin
* Cosome
* Nice
* Nimulid
* Cetrizet-D
They contain Phenyl Propanol-Amide, PPA which may cause Strokes if your body reacted negatively. They are totally banned in the US.
